Penguins Take Eastern Conference Game Over Islanders 3-2

Crosby records 2 points in 1000th game


PITTSBURGH, Pa -- Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby scored a game-high 2 assists in a come-from-behind win over New York on Saturday night at PPG Paints Arena in an Eastern Conference divisional matchup.

Crosby made the most time on ice, as Pittsburgh (9-6-1) secured a key win over New York (8-6-3). Crosby played his 1,000th game.

Pittsburgh and New York fought to get the 1st goal of the game for over half of the game. A power-play goal by Pittsburgh with 7:25 to play in the 2nd period got the scoring going. New York scored the next two goals and were leading with 12:25 to play. 2 more goals by Pittsburgh secured a key win for the Penguins.

Penguins defenseman, Kris Letang, scored a game-high two goals and added five hits and two takeaways. Teammate and goalie, Tristan Jarry, stopped 33 of 35 shots with a save percentage of .943.

Islanders center, Brock Nelson, scored one goal and registered three shots. Teammate and defenseman, Nick Leddy, registered five shots and added three hits with 22:58 of ice time.
